Our purpose is to aid and spread awareness about Romania's most vulnerable and commonly overlooked treasures - the disabled and their family.

Although disabled people face challenges all over the world, those in Romania are in especially difficult circumstances that are unimaginable in societies like the United States or Western Europe. There are obvious tangible differences such as a lack of government assistance or handicap-friendly facilities. DiaperMinistry, however, is about the emotional and spiritual challenges facing the families of the disabled. Volunteers at the ministry believe that something as simple as disposable adult diapers can vastly impact the hearts and spirits of these silent sufferers.

These families are often suffering from the society's underlying prejudice that "disabilities are caused by the sins of the parents." Such attitudes cause feelings of deep rejection by their own relatives, friends, neighbors, and even their own churches. This misinformation and lack of handicap-friendly facilities, along with an un-affordability of wheelchairs and disposable adult diapers have led to a painful and degrading life style of being isolated at home. When we asked how we could help in America, many mothers surprised us with their answer: adult disposable diapers.

Thus began our ministry, which is designed to provide these precious people with disposable adult diapers so that they can have the freedom, cleanliness for health reasons, and also the right to be clean and dry. Our special needs individuals need to be out there in the regular population as much as the world around us needs them. (Click here to read Kristine Hebert's Story). The ministry also assists other organizations that help with the emotional and spiritual health of the mothers of the disabled. These organizations provide love and support to counter the harshness of Romania's society.

To help provide this most basic need to the disabled, our goal is to send 500,000 disposable adult diapers to Romania each year. We hope and pray that we would be able to achieve this goal. And with your help, we believe that we can make a big difference in their lives.
